Geography , Natural disasters , Earthquake , Pakistan

The year 2008 , an earthquake of magnitude 6.4 , hit Pakistani , province of Balochistan on October 29. The earthquake occurred 185km southeast of the Afghanistan city and 60km north of Quetta.
The earthquakes and active faults in western and northern Pakistan and adjacent parts of Afghanistan are the result of the Indian plate moving northward at a rate of about 40 mm/yr (1.6 inches/yr) and colliding with the Eurasian plate.
At 28 October 2008, 4.3o(local time), 30.653 degrees north, 63.363 degrees east, at a depth of 15km, another shallower earthquake of magnitude 6.4 followed after the initial earthquake.
The impact of the earthquake caused 215 people's death and 120,000 homeless. and the extend damage caused most of the casualties from two villages on the outskirts of Ziarat Town. A landslide caused by the earthquake destroyed hundreds of mud houses.
The Baluchistan's Chief minister ordered the declaration of emergency hospitals of the affected areas. The Pakistani military troops also were dispatched to assess damage and aid victims.
I will like the government to provide funds for the scientists to invent a machine that can detect the earthquake earlier and have affective communication to inform the people in the area that the earthquake is going to hit, to avoid mass casualties.
